Well, we had our constellation project presentation yesterday.
It went excellently! Everyone did well in our group.
I got to bring in the paintings I made for the diagrams of the constellations. (Here and here.) I got so many compliments. Someone walked in and looked at them and said "Oh that's not fair." At least that's what I was told, I wasn't in the room at the time. The lights also worked out really well.
At the end of class, we got our evaluations back for the project. We got 74/70! The professor handed ours back last, so I think it was the highest score. So my goal was achieved, I got extra credit. It brought my grade up to a 98%.
After class, I got to talk with the professor. He said it was the first time he's seen someone do something artistic and with lights. He's seen artistic, and with lights, but never both. And he's been teaching the class for 21 years. I was a first! I'm really happy about that. I was thinking about selling the paintings, but the professor said that if I were to donate them he'd make sure they'd be displayed. That's all I really care about: that they have a home. And plus, my professor is awesome and I'd really like to leave my mark at that school somehow.
The SI said they were the best diagrams he'd ever seen. I don't know how long he's been working with this professor's classes, but that's a pretty awesome compliment. I'm glad he liked them.
All in all, I am very pleased. If I do the extra credit that's left for the semester, I'll be over 100% in the class. That's what I was going for.
I had also e-mailed the professor questions about the final. He e-mailed my answers back to me. Turns out the "1 page" and "2 pages" are both the minimum and maximum, but we can go over or under by a half a page. I hate maximums! But because he has to grade 50 finals in a day and a half, not to mention his other finals, he has to make it the maximum as well.
He said most people will come up short. And I just think "How?!" The answers involve a lot of explanations, I don't see how anyone could come up short. But that's just me.
Countdown to go visit my dad: 9 days.
Countdown to the start of the next semester: 18 days.
